What We’ve Been Doing at SVC
July 2019
Week of Hope!
“Because nothing and no one is hopeless when God shows up!”
We will be hosting our annual Week of Hope this July starting on July 21st with a free community car wash and ending on Thursday the 25th with a free community BBQ and concert. Scattered in between are different opportunities to work together to serve various groups and individuals. This is a great way to take the Next Step, and use the gifts that God has blessed you with to share His love with the people of our community. It is our desire and prayer that we would have 100% participation from our church body. Please take a look at what we’re planning and sign up where you would like to help. Someone will then contact you with information about the event or events you have chosen. Click the links below for more information.

Week of Hope!
“Because nothing and no one is hopeless when God shows up!”
In July, the members of SVC participated in a church-wide community outreach for four days spreading the love of Jesus to the people of Fairfield. We cleaned up a few of the local parks, our children assembled care packages for homeless community members, we baked for our first responders, hosted a blood drive, painted the chapel at Travis Air Force Base, and played with the children at the Leaven and Mission Solano. We completed the week by inviting the community to a BBQ hosted at our church where the gospel message was shared, as well as a testimony of hope from one of our members, Wanda. Ultimately, we had 190 people show up for the BBQ and twenty-two people said they wanted to know more about Jesus or have a relationship with Him! Our MC was PC Walker, and fantastic music was provided by the The Brian Logue Band
Due to the busy week we had and the many photos, the images have been broken up into two slideshows for easier viewing. Images courtesy of Pamela Reynoso.

We had planned to hold this event at Woodcreek Park, but due to very wet and rainy conditions we had to default to the church premises. It was a great exercise in flexibility! We were so happy that both the Fairfield Police and Fire Departments came and allowed us to tour their trucks and equipment as well as answer questions. Images courtesy of Pamela Reynoso.
October 2016- Neighborhood Fall Festival at Woodcreek Park
SVC moved our fall festival event from our parking lot on Oliver Road to lovely Woodcreek Park. There were games, candy, face painting, candy…and smiles all around! Images courtesy of Pamela Reynoso.
July 2016- Youth “Week of Hope”
In July the Youth Group lent their bodies in service of our community. Over four days they provided needed help with yard work, helped set up a water activity for the youth of the Police Activities League (PAL), provided extra hands at the Mission Solano Thrift Store, volunteered at The Leaven locations, and provide muscle and organizational help at Mission Solano’s transitional housing.
